What is Speech Pathology?

Speech Pathologists have expertise in the assessment, differential diagnosis and treatment of preschool and school aged children presenting with a varied, and often complex, range of speech, language, social–pragmatic and language-literacy issues.

Communication difficulties frequently occur within the context of other developmental issues. A Paediatric Speech Pathologist is adept at considering other areas of a child’s development: play and cognition, behaviour, motor and social skills.
